Dwight Yorke has lifted the lid on his management ambitions, welcomed British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe's investment in Manchester United and shared his personal story of moving from Trinidad to England and facing racism in football.

The former Manchester United striker, who scored 97 goals in 287 appearances for the club, is currently without a managerial role after leaving Australian side Macarthur FC in February.

But the 51-year-old is keen to get back into management and believes he has the experience and knowledge to succeed at the highest level.

"I've been out of management for a little while now, but I'm hungry to get back in," Yorke told Goal.

"I've got a lot of experience in the game, both as a player and a coach, and I think I'm ready to take on a big job.

"I'm not afraid of a challenge and I'm confident that I can succeed at the highest level."

Yorke also discussed the recent investment in Manchester United by British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe.

"I think it's great news for the club," Yorke said.

"Jim Ratcliffe is a successful businessman with a lot of experience in football. He's also a Manchester United fan, so he understands the club and what it means to the supporters.

"I think he can help the club get back to where it belongs, which is at the top of English football."
